c.v. - COMPUTER MUSIC TYPESETTING

When I studied at the WA Conservatorium of Music in the mid 1980s, computer music notation technology was about to take off in a big way.  I was fortunate that one of my lecturers, Anthony Maydwell, upon discovering my unbridled enthusiasm for the prospect, developed an elective to enable me to study with him a unit based around the MS-DOS based SCORE program developed by the late Stanford University Professor, Dr Leland Smith.   The first publication I produced (1990) using this software was the first edition of Macedonian Folk Music with my friend Linsey Pollak.  Since 2004 I have used Sibelius for many projects, but also continue to use SCORE - despite the technical difficulties of persevering with an MS-DOS program in the 21st Century.
